

The Community Livestock Development Project (CLDP) is a people-centered
project with the main objective of reducing poverty, mainly in rural
areas. The project functions on the basis of the following principles:
market/demand led approach, gender mainstreaming, public/private
partnership, flexible project management, local body capacity
improvement and environmental. The project is conducted in three
modules: i) Intensive livestock production (ILP) in 22 district ii)
Processing, Marketing and commercialization in 21, mainly Terai
district in addition to the emerging area in the aforementioned ILP
districts, and iii) Multi-sectoral Higher Altitude Pilot Project in
five districts.
