
The Community Livestock Development Project (CLDP) is a people-centered project with the main objective of reducing poverty, mainly in rural areas. The project functions on the basis of the following principles: market/demand led approach, gender mainstreaming, public/private partnership, flexible project management, local body capacity improvement and environmental. The project is conducted in three modules:
i) Intensive livestock production (ILP) in 22 district ii)Processing, Marketing and commercialization in 21, mainly Terai district in addition to the emerging area in the aforementioned ILP districts, and iii) Multi-sectoral Higher Altitude Pilot Project in five districts.
